Experienced high school and middle school math tutor

When tutoring, I try to meet the students needs by utilizing methods of teaching which take into consideration the student's learning style. I explain concepts using visual representations as well as numerical/algebraic models. I am a very patient teacher who will find various ways of explaining math concepts, until I find one that works for the student. I teach students the "why" behind the process rather than explaining the process of finding a solution by only listing a number of steps, which the students easily forget. If the student knows why a process works, they will be able to recreate it again at a future date. My comments on tutoring Algebra III : I hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics and an M.S. in Statistics and have experience teaching undergraduates and graduates.

My diverse skills and experience in mathematics, statistics, and computer programming should be advantageous in this circumstance. I have worked with mathematical software and statistical models since 1989 and love doing collaborative statistical and mathematical research to solve challenging problems. I hold a PhD in Mathematics and a Master’s Degree in Statistics. I recently worked as an independent machine learning consultant. In this capacity, I dealt routinely with HMM (Hidden Markov) models, neural networks, and LSA and LDA analysis of text data. I pride myself on my interpersonal skills and my ability to communicate information in ways that make it easy for people to understand and grasp the concepts at hand. I've never had a problem with communicating and explaining math.
I have little work experience, but I'm very experienced in math and frequently tutored in my two semesters as CCGA in Georgia. I also tutored STAR students after school and some peers in high school. I've tutored mostly algebra, but with minor review on my end, I can teach anything below calculus and feel confident in doing so.
