From my experience, I have realized that students learn faster and retain the information they learned longer if a tactile, hands-on approach is used. Currently, I teach K-5 students, and no matter what I'm teaching, I try to turn it into an educational game where the students are up and moving and having fun while learning. Each one exceeded my expectations and learned far more than anyone could have imagined. I truly believe in finding the style of learning that suits each student, and pursuing that particular route. And I have found that you can include each learning style by using a tactile approach. It is extremely simple to add in visual and auditory components within hands-on activities. A Little Bit About Me...

I achieved my M.Ed. from American Intercontinental University where I held a 4.0 GPA. The classroom and hands-on experience gave me the knowledge and experience needed to face the demands of educators today. During the last four years, I worked mostly with adult learners, but a few high school students. I worked mostly in corporate training and development, but the high school students afforded me the opportunity to tutor in research, reading comprehension and composition. I have helped adult learners refine their sills in executive level composition for email, public speaking and reporting.
While I like students to know that I am an expert in my subject field, I also want them to take the opportunity to learn critical thinking skills. I love to put myself in the students' shoes. I have the ability to relate to the students on an individual level and they respect me. I always hope that no one is left behind just because they are afraid to ask questions. I believe in having fun while learning and in being honest with your students.
I taught one semester of College Algebra at Illinois State University. I was responsible for 2 sections of lab while I completed graduate credits for a Master's in Mathematics. My B.S. in actuarial science (math) was attained from Bradley University. Also, I've been a youth minister at the local church for a year and half now and have formed a large group consisting of junior high and high school students.
