Working with students one-on-one in almost every grade level taught me how to assist each unique individual in a way that suits them best. I have worked with students from Kindergarten to 4th grade in Math. When I was 5 years old I learned sign Language, I had a classmate who was deaf and I fell in love with the language. I went to the University of Nebrasaka-Lincoln majored in Speech Pathology and took a few sign language classes. I started interpreting in 2009 in a small town in Kimball Nebraska. I worked with a high school student while I was there. After he graduated high school I then got the opportunity to work in Scottsbluff Nebraska in an elementary school. While I was there, my passion for working with elementary students really came out. While I was there, I worked with a couple different students who were in first grade, second grade, fourth grade and eight grade. I was very emerged in tutoring students. My main experience lies in working with elementary aged children in literacy and religious education programs. However, I received a bachelors degree in political science from DePauw University and a law degree (with honors) from the University of Nebraska, so I have a great deal of educational experience to draw from in teaching students as a tutor. In addition to my educational experience, I also have “real world” business experience and excellent research and writing skills through working as an attorney, all of which I will also draw from while tutoring.
