I propone an exploratory, learn-by-doing philosophy regarding education; I believe that students are best served producing their own inquiries (guided by an educator), and then seeking resolution through gathering information. A Little Bit About Me...

I achieved my M.Ed. from American Intercontinental University where I held a 4.0 GPA. The classroom and hands-on experience gave me the knowledge and experience needed to face the demands of educators today. During the last four years, I worked mostly with adult learners, but a few high school students. I worked mostly in corporate training and development, but the high school students afforded me the opportunity to tutor in research, reading comprehension and composition. My teaching style is one which engages the student actively in the learning process. I have used the "popcorn" technique in a classroom, where I call out "popcorn", then call on someone at random. This ensures that each student in the class is following, or else they lose their turn to read. If I'm working w/ a student w/ poor reading skills, I allow them to read, and help them w/ the difficult words, encouraging them to sound out the word. I also try to engage models, and kinestetics, in the learning process. One picture=1,000 words, and one model = 1,000 pictures. I also use these techniques in teaching mathematics.
