I am a graduate of Bryan College with a degree in Music Education, having taken many education classes and completed a semester of student teaching at the elementary and high school level in Rhea County schools. My prior experience in teaching comes from over 5 years of teaching piano lessons to beginning through advanced students from age 4-adult. While at Bryan, I was a tutor for music theory students as well as assisted and edited English and literature papers and essays.
I have a great love of teaching and guiding young people in their academic studies. My approach to teaching or tutoring is open and involves as much personal encouragement as I can. In 2010, I contracted with the Hamilton County Board of Education, HCBE, and successfully taught 3 courses: 2 Algebra II courses and 1 Introduction to Calculus at Red Bank High School. During the 2010-2011 school year: I am a subsitute teacher for HCBE, where I teach different courses in 15 schools for HCBE, both middle school and high school. I have taught at the college level, and have professional experience as an Electrical Engineer and computer consultant. I specialized in computer science research and design.
