After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Georgia in 2000, I went on to study Poetry with renowned poets Bill Knott and John Skoyles at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. Upon finishing my thesis I moved to Oklahoma to be close to my family, where I continued pursuing my literary interests by volunteering my services to read for international literary journal Nimrod, published out of the University of Tulsa. I have taught French and German in both public and private schools from grades 1 through the college level for over 30 years. My most recent experience was in a public high school, grades 9-12, where I taught for 25 years. I have a bachelors and a masters degree in French literature with a minor in German and am National Board Certified in French. I have also taught humanities and am certified in world civilizations.
Teaching has been a motivation for me for all of my working life. I have experienced the joys of my student's successes at the high school level and then on to their university courses or in their own work experiences.
