A Little Bit About Me...

Worked as a teacher assistant for 10 years and the office for 5 years. I am use to an educational setting and is familiar with the education process of tutoring children. I have worked with fourth, fifth, and sixth graders in preparing them for MCT tests and exit exams. I have tutored in elementary english, math and computer. I am very driven and takes education seriously. During my last five years of employment, I worked in the office and was responsible for student, and teacher data which I submitted to the Department of Education.
I enjoyed working with children, and tried on every ocassion to make learning fun to each student. I actually believe that having the ability to teach is a gift, and that Learning occurs from a variety of experiences and explorations. I generally use a teacher-centered approach to teaching; however, there are other times that I prefer to use a learner-centered approach as to meet the needs of my students and their learning styles. I often use a variety of teaching methods such as: group learning, peer review, role modeling, visual aids/hands-on, and mapping.
