My teaching philosophy is to get students to think about science as a process, and to individualize their learning experiences. I prompt them to “why” and “how” questions at every stage.
Progressing through graduate school and working as a undergraduate student demonstrator allowed me to define learning as a personal process of growth. Being able to ask questions and actually attempt to answer those questions was extremely motivating. Involving and motivating students presents its challenges, but my goal of individualizing learning creates an open and comfortable environment where students can feel free to ask questions, make mistakes, and challenge themselves. It is by breaking down the barriers to learning that students can face their own misconceptions.

I have a BS in Mechanical and Aerospace engineering from MIZZOU. I am very proficient in technical editing, critiquing papers and writing technical papers.
Hands on, Practice based, through step by step instruction. Visual learning whenever applicable. Geometry, algebra, physics, and some calculus are in my range of teaching. I love working with children. I believe that children tend to learn best through repetition and making the experience fun. I like to work with flashcards and other such methods. If you take the time with a child they will eventually pick up on what you are trying to teach them. However, there are methods such as acronyms that can be used as well.
