I was a teacher's assistant and a job coach at Ayden Grifton High School FROM 2000-2003. I worked with the special education teachers teaching children job skills as well as life skills I assisted with teaching academics in the classroom. My main experience comes from having an Autistic child who has ADHD. Love watching children learn and grow!

I graduated from East Carolina University with a B.S. in Elementary Education (K-6) as well as Reading Certification (K-12). I did an internship in 1st grade as well as taught some in 2nd and 3rd grade. I know that each child is different and that I must differentiate my teaching methods in order to reach all children. I love learning new and creative ways to teach content to children and trying to make learning as engaging and meaningful as possible for all.

As an graduate of Elizabeth City State University, I have done exceptionally well. I learned so much through tutoring other students. I love to help students become over achievers. I discovered that my success is directly related to how I overcame my past challenges with math, particularly Algebra. Reflecting back on the years when I attended high school, I struggled with math. Once I was accepted to NC A&T, I realized that I had developed a fear of math and did not understand basic algebraic concepts.
