A Little Bit About Me...

During my years attending UMass Dartmouth, I recieved my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with a minor in Business Administration. But I also gained alot of experience working with children. I tutored elementary age students in the star program and college students at my campus job in the Unity House. I also was the coordinator for the New Bedford Speech Academy. This program taught students fron 4-6th grade public speaking skills. I have applied the skills I learned to my current job as a home tutor. I tutor elementary to high school students in all subjects.
My teaching style is unique to each student's indivdual needs. I take time to recognize my students learning style and provide the need materials or teaching style based their needs. I have a unique resume of teaching experience. I have worked in a number of settings from pre-school to teaching adults. I have taught in public schools, private schools, after school settings and in a foreign country. I believe that every person has their own learning style and it is important for me to understand my students' needs and goals in any learning environment. Most of my teaching experience is with Elementary students working in the core academic areas of Reading, Writing, Math, Science and the Arts.
