A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style varies with student learning styles. Although drill may be appropriate for some skills, my preference is project or problem based methods that draw on the learner's experiences and interests. I work from students' current skill levels, provide challenging problems, model successful learning skills, encourage students' to express creativity and intuition, and employ formative and normative assessments. I firmly believe that more advanced mathemtaics can be taught to younger and more diverse students. I believe that all students, of all skill levels, can learn mathemtaics if creatively taught.

I have 30+ years experience in corporate finance, including 15 years in New York working at multinational investment banks and large corporations. My primary responsibilities included financial statement analysis and transaction structuring. have For the past 17 years I have been a self-employed corporate finance consultant working with smaller, younger companies on internal accounting and finance issues as well as on capital-raising and other external transactions.
