Master's Level Tutuor- Looking to help our Youth

I have worked with many children and adolescents, for the past 8 years, mentoring and tutoring. I enjoy working with our youth and feel that education is very important, especially in today's society. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with children. I think it is a pleasure to teach children how to become positive role models, and great leaders. In today's society many children learn in different ways. For example some like to listen, and some like to take notes. I think the importance of teaching is making sure each child knows the concept, and material.Being able to listen to your students is an important part of being able to teach. I liken tutoring sessions to the repair of a crumbling pyramid. I believe that every student is capable of learning and understanding the material that is presented to them in class, but that due to some reason, he or she does not understand some of the basic concepts that later material adds onto. Hence, the base of their pyramid is unstable. Usually in the first tutoring session, I try to gauge where the student is supposed to be in the material while at the same time trying to figure out where the missing foundation stones are. Once key concepts are explained, I then give students some examples to bolster their confidence and to be sure that they have learned the material.
