I start off with the student displaying what they know and/or don't know. I give an example and and encourage feedback in order to guage the student's understanding. Finally, I have the student to show their understanding. Sometimes, it may take different methods because people learn differently.
I have had over 15 years of tutoring and/or teaching experience. I have worked with different age groups, my preferred and primary being adults. I am currently working on my master’s thesis in mathematics, by which I expect to graduate fairly soon. I am patient, creative, and thorough in my interaction with students. As a college student I am still striving for my goal and dream of becoming a veterinarian. I have always been a mentor in my community and willing to help others where they need help. My favorite subjects throughout grade school include math and science, in which I have excelled in both by being placed in honor level classes throughout high school. I have tutored many students in math, science and elementary level reading.
My teaching style with younger children is to have a relaxed setting where no pressure in placed upon the student. I'm always sure to review my material before going into a new lecture. When a student is not understanding the material I try to use many methods for then to gain a better understanding. When I was younger it was easier for me to understand information if I can relate it to my life, so I will apply the same methods with teaching others.

I also use everyday concepts to give similiar scenarios to get them on the right track. I find pleasure in seeing their faces light up once they come to understand the subject matter.
