My teaching style is hands on and what I would call explanatory. I have found that people learn concepts better if they understand why something is done rather then just being explained how to do it. I also believe in helping the student work through the problem rather than just telling them how to do it.
I have a vast array of experience in the accounting field. I have accounting experience from an entry level accounting position up to being a CFO for five years. The subject was computer skills using and navigating the MicroSoft Office products of Word and Excel. At work, I mentored recent Finance and Accounting graduates who had accepted an opportunity to work as an Internal Auditor.
I first try to assess the students' sticking point and start from there. Many times the student misses or does not understand a fundamental point that causes confusion when later applied.
