I currently manage a research lab at Albany Medical College. During my tenure here in the past six years, I have been able to instruct techniques that I have learned and developed to other colleagues and students that have worked in the laboratory, even though my teaching experience began in high school as a laboratory assistant in the 10th grade biology classroom. A Little Bit About Me...

I find working with children and students to be a very rewarding area of work. I love to learn and therefore love to help others learn. I am a strong believer in that with the right encouragement and hard work all children are able to learn. I believe it is important to make education interesting for children and provide "real world" examples of how each subject is important, as often times children find subjects they are learning to be useless in their lives. I hope that through tutoring each of my students will gain a greater understanding of the importance of and education and also a greater love of learning.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been an amateur tutor ever since high school, when I tutored classmates for free. I spent 6 years as a nuclear trained electrician in the US Navy, 10 years in academia where I studied and taught psychology, biology, and communications, and the past 10 years in retail management. I took it upon myself to conduct impromptu training sessions in many different areas of study while in the Navy, and actively helped shipmates engaged in external study programs. I am a graduate of Penn State and hold have a BS degree in Biology. I was an accelerated student (Graduated in 3 and a half years) and am planning on attending medical school next year. My degree has given me comprehensive insight into mathematics and science. Additionally, I held an independent research position at Penn State and am in the process of being published as a co-author in The Journal of Nutrition.
I feel the best way to learn is by doing repetitive and challenging exercises that will ultimately lead to the success of your child. Learning can often be a struggle for many people. I'm able to make complex material more easy to understand, something that will benefit your child in the long-run.
