A Little Bit About Me...

I have a BS in mechanical and materials Engr from the university of conneccticut. I have masters in science management, MBA and project management. I have experience a design engineer, Material failure analyst, project engineer, project manager and program manager. At the current time i am project/business manager for the lower pressure compression for aircraft engines. I have been tutoring since my sophomore year in college.
I enjoy teaching and helping children understand whatever topic they might be involved in. I typically try to understand that individual's learning style and try to incorporate or explain the topic from that perspective.

I have found that the best way to teach math is through analogy and real world examples. I prefer to teach general as opposed to specific methods, as these are more widely applicable. However general methods appear to be best taught through specific examples and with a great deal of patience. I am also a great fan of student encouragement as nothing can be done by the student if hey lack the necessary confidence.
I have been tutoring physics, mathematics and chemistry at the college for Naugatuck Valley Community for the past six years. There were approximately 14 Seniors in the class and we utilized all of the Office programs from the creation of letterheads to the writing of business correspondence to mythical persons about various subjects. Subsequently I tutored high school seniors for the Princeton Review, an SAT prep business, for about a year and a half.
