I have a genuine love for teaching and sharing my knowledge with students. I am extremely patient and serve as a listening ear for students. I love tutoring and mentoring kids, period. It's spiriturally rewarding to me as an adult to have a part in a child's development. I believe every child is special. There's is no doubt in my mind that if a tutor approach is based on patience, quality time and empathy, he or she will be successful and effective. The latter mentioned characteristics has always been viewed by me as the hallmarks of tutoring. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated with an M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina in May of 2010. Directly after graduating, I began a career as an Academic Advisor in the Moore School of Business Undergraduate Division at the University of South Carolina. I currently still hold this job. I also taught a University 101 course to 25 incoming freshmen in the Fall of 2010. This course included helping the students get acquainted with resources on campus, learn study/time management strategies, and much more. Also, while in graduate school, I worked about 5-10 hours per week as an Academic Success Coach in the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) at the University of South Carolina.

I enjoy teaching and do my best to make learning fun and easy for my pupils. I approach lessons by letting the student realize how and why the lesson is important and how it relates to their lives. I firmly believe everyone can learn; the style in which they learn may differ from others, but given the correct approach, all teachers/tutors can be successful.
