I attended Clark University as a pre-med student and graduated with a BA in Biological Sciences. After graduation, I worked as a lab technician in a clinical immunology lab for 2 years prior to attending WPI for graduate school. While in grad school, I worked as a teaching assistant/tutor for 3 of the 4 years. When I was working as a post-doctoral fellow at UMASS Medical Center, I worked as a long-term substitute at Shrewsbury High School for AP Biology and picked up daily substitute teacher jobs here and there while tutoring for AP biology. My teaching style is very simple and I believe it is effective. I have found that going through problems does not always help kids learn. I always try to tutor the basics and establish a plan for problem solving. The children need to know how to attach a problem not how to plug numbers into equations.
While attending the University of Massachusetts at Lowell I work to help other students that were having difficulty understanding the material presented. I obtained a bachelor of science in Civil Engineering, with a concentration in Structural Analysis. The course work gave me a very strong understanding of Mathematics, and Physics.
