Teacher, Tutor, and Coach

I have taught for four years from Kindergarten to Third Grade. I was responsible for teaching math, reading, english language arts, social studies, science, phonics, and handwriting. Besides teaching at the Elementary level, I was the Gifted Coordinator for students in grades Kindergarten to 12th. I work with each student in the way that is best for their particular learning styles. I prefer a laid-back approach to learning, allowing students to understand at their own pace and make connection on their own. This does not mean, however, that I do not have high expectations for my students.
I hold two bachelor degrees, a BA in French Language and Literature and a BS in Microbiology. I also have a certificate in African Studies and a minor in Chemistry. Therefore, I have a very well-rounded background in both the sciences and the liberal arts. I am also certified to teach English as a foreign language.
