My old next door neighbors have two children. One is a boy in elementary and one is a girl in middle school. I tutored the boy in reading and writing. He was able to read his first book on his own after a few weeks with me. I had to tutor the girl in math. she was taking algebra and was having a tough time with it. In two weeks of many meetings, she was able to pass her final exam. No matter what grade I was in, I always enjoyed going down to the ESE room and helping the special kids. I did what ever I could to help.

Anatomy is one of my top subjects! I have spent all my professional life in France, I was a physician( family practice) for more than 20 years. I went to school in France from middle school to graduation as doctor in medicine. I believe strongly in prevention and used to teach patients . Lately I assist a young brain injured patient, suffering from aphasia to regain his speech ability.I am studying and passed the exams to get into the training to get back my medical license. I can tutor French with cooking lessons if needed

As an English Education major, I have had numerous encounters in the classroom with each of my classroom practicums. After completing my degree in the fall of 2009, I will have over three semesters of classroom experience, working with students from the sixth grade to the twelfth grade. I have also worked as a childcare provider for several years, in addition to tutoring both Math and English as a part-time job.
Throughout my studies I have learned that all students learn differently. When teaching in a classroom, I will have to discover the way each student learns individually. An important aspect of my teaching experience has been to get down on that students level, and look at the struggles each student has in the classroom. I modify lessons in order to have each student adapt them to his or her own learning style. I believe that each student is willing to learn, but needs ... read more

In working with children I have learned that it is important to be excited about what you are teaching. That excitement is contagious and creates a desire to self learn and creates long term study habits. That excitement will be reflected in a students' progress as they gain more knowledge about a certain subject. My goal is to inspire a child to realize what they are able to accomplish through hard work and fun.
During my years as an undergraduate student I took on extensive study habits that included working in study groups and tutoring other classmates who were struggling with material. In my undergraduate experience I have acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to comprehend extensive material including math, physics, chemistry, and life sciences. As an honors student I was required to speak in front of large groups of people and explain complex subjects in areas that I ha ... read more

My first work experience began with counseling Severely Emotionally Disturbed children and their families. In this capacity I worked with the schools in order to enable the students to see the value of education and to work through their personal problems in order to be successful in the school setting. I have been a teacher/trainer for 12 years in the Lee County school system. The levels I taught included diverse populations of middle and high school students. Most of my classes were comprised of ESE students and in fact there were several years that I concentrated on Severely Emotionally Disturbed students in a special program. Throughout both of these careers I have been extremely successful in establishing rapport and trust with these children and have been triumphant in motivating this population to care about themselves and their education. Though I am an easy going person, I am no nonsense when it comes to learning. I am non judgmental about a person's ability to learn, only their dedication and willingness. I believe anyone can excell in any subject, if they simply have the will to do so.
I hold a B.S. in Wildlife Biology and an M.S. in Environmental Biology. I entered college later in life and worked and paid my own way through. I have excellent writing skills and am proficient in nearly all areas of biological sciences. Specifically, I am well versed in the areas of taxonomy, evolutionary biology, and anatomy of both plants and animals.

I graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a degree in biology and chemistry minor. Throughout my college career I had the opportunity to be a teacher's assistant for a Human Systems course, and tutored peers in such subjects as General Chemistry I & II, Organic Chemistry I & II, and Biology I & II for two years. I mentored high school seniors and tutored them in the areas required for graduation. In the Dominican Republic I have worked with, and am still involved with, at-risk youth planning and implementing educational activities.
