A Little Bit About Me...

I have always wanted students to really know the material being covered. This has meant keeping their interest through jovial yet concentrated lesson planning. I have always strived to make my students feel comfortable and to take on the responsibility for their own learning. Much too often Educators show students how to answer questions rather than helping the student learn how to handle new scenarios. This is the essence of my teaching: helping students see the big picture so that they can handle any new scenario. My classroom always has many things going on at once, which is a direct result of the student driven learning and presenting.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a teacher I realize that every student has a different style of learning, and I work to quickly understand the best ways to teach students in a one on one setting, generally using some form of self-discovery, depending on the subject. When teaching music I seek to help the student to learn good practice behavior and an understanding of where they fit in the the big picture of a music group.
