A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored beginning reading to a first grader using the Sing, Spell, Read and Write method. But I can teach all elementary school subjects. I am part of my daughter's PTA and monthly tutor her fellow classmates in reading skills. I have been part of the PTA for two years. For the past two years, I have been a private tutor for elementary children. Finally, for ten years, I professionally tutored my sister in language. I can assist your child in his or her vocabulary skills. First of all, a dictionary is required. We will work together and read respectable grade level books. The student will have " weekly word list". The word list will consist of words their school requires them to know or age-appropriate words be given. These words would need to be placed in alphabetical order, sentences, crossword puzzles, and much more. These exercises will provide the child confidence in themselves when book reports are given and etc.

I always try to find a different approach to learning. If the material is delivered in a boring way, it won't be memorized. I try to engage students to become really interested in the subject. I use metaphors and comparisons to explain the meaning of a certain word of phrase and a clue to remember both its spelling and meaning. Spreading knowledge across the world

I'm more of a hands on and visual teacher. I prefer to show than to read because many ideas can come from one sentence. I learn more by drawing out or actually seeing what my teacher is trying to convey.
