I love art, and I was going to get a Bachelors Degree in Art history. I enjoy drawing and painting, and I love to sing. I graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BA in English Literature. Through my coursework at UT I polished both my analytical and writing skills, while concurrently gaining comprehensive knowledge of the canonical literature that is taught in school today and the methodology of teaching it. Additionally I have a semester of graduate school in education completed, and am well versed in different teaching strategies and used to working with learning disabled and difficult students. I believe in inspiring children to be intrinsically motivated to learn. By learning who a child is we, in turn, learn how to teach them. After graduating from the University of Miami, I taught Kindergarten, a 3rd/4th grade combination, 6th grade, and computers/technology. After having children, I transitioned to tutoring students, some with special needs including, dyslexia, auditory processing, traumatic brain injury, ADHD, and others. For the last 4 years, I have been a Reading Resource teacher, working with students in phonemic awareness, fluency, and comprehension. In my current job, I work with students in Kindergarten through the fourth grade. My students enjoy their time with me and have all improved their skills significantly. I enjoy seeing children learn new things. I know that every child learns differently. It is important to get to know the children that you are teaching and figure out what teaching technique fits there needs. I feel like I do an excellent job of portraying what I am trying to teach. I have always loved children. Children are precious and all have very unique learning techniques. When I was a senior at Maryville High School, I taught Spanish to first graders. My partner and I were in charge of making lesson plans and fulfilling these plans for each class. I really enjoyed seeing the children get excited about learning.

I have been a teacher for 13 years. I started out in Huntsville, Alabama as a substitute teacher for grades K-12. I was a title I teacher for 2 years with 7th and 8th grade and 2nd grade. I was a classroom teacher for 4 years at Rolling Hills Elementary School. I was a 5th grade teacher for 2 years and a 1st grade teacher for 2 years. I then moved to Bay County, Florida. I taught 4 years in Bay County. I taught 5th grade for 2 years, 1st and 2nd grade. My last teaching position was at Breakfast Point Academy. Classroom teacher for 8 years.
