A Little Bit About Me...

The most important thing to remember when teaching a child new concepts is patience. All children learn skills in different ways. Some catch on quickly, others need more time. Even the way in which you demonstrate how a problem is solved can make a difference. I usually try several methods for solving problems rather than insist that they learn the traditional methods only. The little bit of extra time spent giving them the optional techniques could make a world of difference in their educational success.
As a parent of two school-aged children I have had the oppurtunity to learn about the newest teaching methods employed by teachers at this time. We often work together on math and science. I am a senior accountant with a BS in accounting and an MBA. Using these degrees I have gained valuable experience in both the public and corporate accounting fields. I have worked in the accounting field for over 13 years.
I love teaching and working with children. While attending college at night and during the weekends, I ran a state-licensed daycare out of my home during the day. I have taught several instructional classes on accounting software. I also taught 3 years religious education at our church.
