Reading Comprehension is one of my top subjects! Working with your child to understand vocabulary, context clues and giving them strategies is what I would be offering your child.

I believe in assessments to determine a childs strengths and weaknesses. I would want to have previous class work and homework assignments and determine deficiencies in a given area. I want to understand what the teacher is doing from this work. It is helpful to understand why you or your child is not being as successful as possible. Often your child's teacher is trying different strategies with computers or in class tutoring. I will improve this approach with one to one teaching in my office or in a library setting.
