Dyslexia is one of my top subjects! As an educational diagnostician, I am very familiar with dyslexia in all forms. Reading and reading comprehension may be very common but rarely understood in a classroom. Dysgraphia and dyscalculia are not understood well in lower grades and often misdiagnosed as ADHD. I am an Educational Diagnostician and have worked in Texas school districts for over 25 years. I have helped students pass their State exams as well as regular classes. My teaching career began teaching students and helping parents understand their problems. I give full individual assessments to meet all standards in universities in the U.S. and overseas. My teaching style is differentiated teaching, as this combines many different learning styles and is able to reach most, if not all studens. I teach using many different hands-on activities, as I believe that it teaches real-world applications. I believe in texts/paper assignements but always try to back up the assignment with some type of real-world experience/scenario,; whether it be having the student give a speech, act out a script or physically demonstrate a concept or a combination of all of the above.
I have obtained my Bachelors in human Services and completed the teaching certification program at Lonestar College. I have passed my content exams in special education ec-12 and the generalist 4-8.
