A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching for more than fifteen years at the collegiate level and I have taught one year at the high school level. I also tutor students when I find students in need of extra assistance. I have worked in the insurance field for about fourteen years and worked in competitive environments in an actuarial department. I have also ran a small business for more than twelve years. I have a diverse number of experiences so that I can make mathematics practical and live for the student.
I am more of a hands on type of person and ask questions so that the student can explore and learn on their own. This will help them to be able to really learn the materials. I also cater my tutoring to the students involved.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Monmouth College with a B.A Degree in Mathematics while being a four-year starter and two-year football team captain. I can serve as an example that studies and extracurricular activities can go hand in hand. For the first two years I was a chemistry major and my science coursework included botany, geology, and astronomy. Furthermore, my non-math and science electives were focused on ancient Greek philosophy, society, and recreation. The liberal arts curriculum and an incredible grammar teacher in high school have provided me with excellent literary skills as well. I want to guide the student to figuring out the right answer themselves by demonstrating a problem for them, and having them work a similar one. I will be there step by step to offer direction in a very pleasant, easy going manner.
My experience in teaching is limited other than helping my brother-in-law with tutoring through algebra in college. I enjoyed it very much, and it was extremely fulfilling. I can tutor/teach various courses in math, business, engineering/construction technology, etc.
