My teaching style has always been to make learning as enjoyable as possible. I believe that I am old enough to know better, but still young enough to know the current trends and also to remember things I did not enjoy while in high school. I believe the main thing most students dislike is lectures, so I would incorporate games and small projects into my curriculum. I also believe that students should know why they have to learn certain things. Most students say "why do I have to know algebra? I am not going to need it in the future!" Instead of replying "because I said so," I believe educators should explain to them legitimate reasons as to how math/English/etc. would be beneficial to them as adults. As an undergraduate, I worked as a volunteer tutor in the Robles Park/Seminole Heights area for two years. I tutored kids in math, science, English, and social sciences. I also tought sunday school in my church where I was involved in designing the curriculum and planning lessons. I am also an experienced substitute teacher.
