I prefer a "hands on" approach in a one-on-one environment. I have had success with classrooms of up to 120 students, but I prefer the individual monitoring. It yields the best results. I have tutored remedial reading at the Elementary level for a tutoring service out of Phoenix, AZ for the Washoe County School System in Reno. While in my undergraduate study, I tutored fellow students who were struggling with beginning music theory. Another classmate and I taught classes in 4 levels of theory for up to 120 students while at U of P-West Chester. A Little Bit About Me...

My experience is not as a liscensed teacher. I have been more of an assistant or tutor. I have worked with k-6th grade students-some of which are/were physically and /or mentally challenged.
My teaching style is very creative. Yes, I believe in teaching the basics, but make learning fun. I like to do fun games or art projects or use music to inspire and teach the children. That way they will have fun and learn at the same time.

A Little Bit About Me...

In attending the University of Nevada, Reno, I was introduced to and involved with several programs working with youth. I was a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) working with children who were removed from their home for various reasons. (Parents were usually abusive). I also tutored Autistic children in the Early Childhood Autism program at UNR for almost two years. This program has offered me unique training and qualifications for tutoring youth, not just Autistic children. I minored in Criminal Justice, and took several additional English classes outside the necessary classes required for graduation, as I find English, among other various disciplines, to be quite a strength for me.
