However, the parents and elders expect results and it is very satisfying to see the children respond with good answers and, especially, with good questions for me. I have learned so very much from my students. I have taught and encouraged little ones from toddlers to 12 years of age, both boys and girls. I was a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) working with children who were removed from their home for various reasons. (Parents were usually abusive). My first degree was in Environmental Studies. After graduating, I took a position with a local non-profit where I taught recycling education to school aged children. I enjoyed teaching so much that it encouraged me to return to school to obtain my elementary education license. Since then I have taught both Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade. I am currently obtaining my Masters in Special Education. I have also been an after school tutor for a year for elementary aged children.
