I use a teaching paradigm that stresses the importance of student's needs and learning styles. Every student brings unique skills and perspectives to the classroom and tutor session, and because of this I have found that my teaching strategy changes per student and per teaching situation. For some students, being taught using the socratic method works well, while others like to take notes, absorb the material, then ask questions later during office hours. If you teach at a level higher than the student's he/she will not be able to follwo you. If you teach at a level that is below the student's level, he/she will get bored and loose concentration.
