A Little Bit About Me...

I am a graduate of Bryan College with a degree in Music Education, having taken many education classes and completed a semester of student teaching at the elementary and high school level in Rhea County schools. My prior experience in teaching comes from over 5 years of teaching piano lessons to beginning through advanced students from age 4-adult. While at Bryan, I was a tutor for music theory students as well as assisted and edited English and literature papers and essays.
I have a great love of teaching and guiding young people in their academic studies. My approach to teaching or tutoring is open and involves as much personal encouragement as I can. I enjoy seeing children learn new things. I know that every child learns differently. It is important to get to know the children that you are teaching and figure out what teaching technique fits there needs. I feel like I do an excellent job of portraying what I am trying to teach.
I have always loved children. Children are precious and all have very unique learning techniques. When I was a senior at Maryville High School, I taught Spanish to first graders. My partner and I were in charge of making lesson plans and fulfilling these plans for each class. I really enjoyed seeing the children get excited about learning.
