I have studied the indicated fields for over two years at high school and university levels. Also, I have taught English as a Second Language as an intern while studying abroad in London for one semester. For this position, I taught from self-made exercises, lesson plans, and individualised activities focusing on English comprehension, writing, communication, grammar, and literature.
I prefer to incorporate student participation as much as possible instead of giving lecture-style instruction to learn their unique learning styles and to understand more about my students. My favorite aspect of coaching, teaching, and tutoring is the personal connection I build with my students. As a student, I did not adapt well to traditional educational settings, and so I seek to create a nontraditional environment for my students that involves kinetic, visual, and auditory stimulation. I also tutored my cousin, who has Down Syndrome, helping him with his summer school work, including literature, handwriting, math, and Spanish. I majored in Art at the Pennsylvania State University. I also took many different courses in Art and Art History, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and photography.
My teaching style is very versatile. I think the best way to teach is to first assess the areas that need the most work, and then devise a simple, logical approach to help the student understand the material. Some students learn visually, others learn by repetition. It takes a lot of adaptation to make sure the student really grasps the ideas.

This approach to teaching focuses on the major concerns of the student (or parent)rather than focus on an overarching theme like how to read or how to write.
