I have been an educator for almost 20 years. I began my teaching career as a substitute teacher and immediately fell in love with teaching children with special needs. Desiring to continue to teach, I finished a Master's degree which gave me the endorsements to teach K-12 children with special needs. I am passionate about music and English!

I have been playing and performing flute for 19 years. I began learning flute through the Suzuki method when I was 6 years old. I studied with Aniko Debreceny for 8 years. I graduated from Wheaton College Conservatory where I studied flute with Dr. Jennie Brown, and was a member of the Wheaton College Symphonic Band for 4 years. I took classes in Music Pedagogy. I had a combined degree at Wheaton for both music and English. I took many English classes including: British Literature, American Literature, Creative Writing, Children's Literature, and Shakespeare. In 2015 I graduated from Shenandoah University where I studies Flute Performance with Professor Jonathan Snowden. I now play with the Capital Wind Symphony.

A Little Bit About Me...

My tutoring experience has included working for Advanced Learners LLC, and working in a Middle School tutoring students during their study hall. The main group of students that I have worked with include Middle School aged students, but I also have experience working with Elementary aged students as well. I have taught children how to read, worked on developing phonics skills, and have taught math curriculum to students.
