Formal training has taught me that the more you converse using the language and not using your voice the more you retain and learn the language. I like to focus on one specfic aspect per session be it finger spelling or vocabulary or idioms, ETC. If the student has a test coming up we can chnage it up to focus on the topics of that test. But over all i think learning a language should be fun and relaxed. I interpreted for 6-8th graders at Hoover middle school for two years. I have interpreted at church now for the last 4 years. I have tutored one ASL student during their second semester at OSU. I tutored the middle school kids in math, art, english and science. I interact with many deaf friends frequently.
