A Little Bit About Me...

I teach Anatomy and Physiology Honors as well as Biology Honors in County Schools. I graduated from University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s of Science in Secondary Science Education. My coursework included upper level Biology/Math courses such as Cell Biology, Genetics, and Calculus as well as education classes where I studied topics like educational philosophy. Additionally as an undergraduate I had the opportunity to work as a tutor in several high-need Middle and High schools in the County.
As an educator, I truly believe that all students can be successful in science. Furthermore, I strive to instill an appreciation for both science and learning by creating tasks that challenge students' thinking while providing appropriate support for each student.

Bio Chemistry is one of my top subjects! Research in this field

I believe that every student I have ever worked with has been more than capable of understanding and excelling at whatever material we are working on. The problem I often see is either a lack of focus or loss of determination/ confidence due to not agreeing or benefiting from their teachers teaching style. With this in mind I gain an understanding of what the student understands and work with them to let them figure the problems out trying multiple approaches and explanations.
Besides my degree in BioChemistry I have also completed minors in cellular/molecular biology, and art. While studying at Albion college I worked on two separate college funded research teams as well as worked as a TA with large groups of students as well as small groups. Bachelors degree held in aquatic sciences with a focus on statistics, chemistry, and biology.
