My approach to tutoring is that all students are capable of learning. Kids often benefit from a fresh perspective and it is my job to make them more confident again. Writing is one of my top subjects! I developed a writing program for elementary age students in NY. It was used to help students prepare for the state-wide writing test. It incorporated reading and writing as well as math and writing. It also included a section on incorporating listening and writing.

I have over 25 years teaching in an elementary school. I have worked extensively with children who fall below grade level or need extra help. I use games and manipulative when working with students. I encourage them to do their best and reward them for a job well done. I also involve the parent, leting them know each time what was done and where we are headed.
