Every child has his/her own learning style. I think it is important to first determine how each child best learns – either visual, auditory, or tactile. I can then tailor my instruction to the needs of each student. In general, I believe that people learn best by ‘doing’. I believe that students should be able to ask questions or discuss relevant experiences during lessons – this kind of dialogue makes the instruction memorable and meaningful to students. I greatly enjoy finding a way to inspire a child to understand the problem at hand. Through from my experience in grade school and my observation of students that attend tough schools I've realized the monotonous class schedule and disciplinary philosophy of most schools deflates most student's desire to succeed. A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching style? I tend towards an extrinsic, formal, and authoritative style. That said, I'm pretty easy to get along with, quite patient, and kinda fun. And 'formal' doesn't have to mean rigid. I will work hard to adjust and refine lesson plans to enable success in your area of study.
