I volunteered my services when a few friends asked me if I could help them with their essays. I just basically edited their essays and told them a few things on how they could do better. I even helped someone with a resume that they were sending around to a few jobs. My friends thank me for all that I did to help them and they would usually help me in subjects that I was falling behind in, like Math for example. I loved helping them learn with subjects they have a hard time with and I loved learning with them. I help someone with learning disabilities how to spell since the learning part of her brain was fried. I also love helping her husband how to spell as well since he also has troubles with spelling. A Little Bit About Me...

I was never amazing in school, but I recently got my GED and passed with amazing scores!!! I'm phenomenal at English, spelling, writing and anything in that category!! I quite enjoy science. I was never too good at math, but I like it for the most part and I can do the basics. History and social studies, I'm not too bad at. They are definitely not a strong subject of mine though. As an undergraduate student at Utah State University, I spent two years working as a Undergraduate Teaching Fellow, a Teacher's Assistant, and a Supplemental Instructor. I taught labs and assisted students with understanding information in the subject areas of Microbiology, Human Anatomy, and Human Physiology. I held review sessions, created tests and quizzes, and met with students individually or in groups to answer questions, review tests, or improve study habits.

I am a retired FBI Agent, with both a Bachelor of Science and a Juris Doctorate. As an Agent, I learned to speak fluent Russian and speak it to this day. Since retirement six years ago I have been tutoring and coaching my son, who is handicapped. He is highly intelligent but learns a little bit differently, so I have worked hard with him to teach him to read, learn math and grammar. He cannot write, so everything he learns is by memory. He is an excellent student and works hard. My work in the FBI has given me excellent writing skills, my grammar is next to perfect, and I read several books a week. A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned a paraprofessional certification through the Box Elder School District. I have extensive training through Americorps. I have successfully developed a reading program for Adele C. Young Intermediate School ages 6th and 7th grade. I have had the privilege of spending many hours with struggling readers helping to build their reading levels and comprehension skills. I worked at the Brigham City Library for 6 years and Utah State University for 2 years as a facilitator.
I absolutely love reading and enjoy working with children. I take great pride in helping a child who is struggling with reading to see them improve daily. I am very patient and kind.
