Education is enlightening, enjoyable, and energizing!

I returned to school at the age of 47 to get my degree in history. My experience consists of tutoring from 1 - 60 students (in the same hour), teaching at Greenville Technical College, and creating my own tutoring service. I deeply enjoy all kinds of history and have a passion for teaching others. From my very first job (selling papers at the age of 11), I have used teaching as the medium for interacting with people.

My teaching style is one of excitement and enthusiasm. I am passionate about the material I teach, and try to convey this excitement to my students without being annoying and over enthused. A Little Bit About Me...

I've been teaching informally most of my adult life. I earned a 193 out of a possible 200 on a Praxis test that covered content knowledge of my subject area (English literature), and 179 in a comprehensive middle school language arts test, and am enrolled in Capella University, where I'm currently pursuing a master's of science degree in K-12 studies. Teaching has been my passion for a long time. My biggest strengths are not only considerable knowledge in my subject area, but life experience: I know what kids are up against if they do not maximize their educational chances in a timely manner.
