I have an unparalleled amount of patience.

My first teaching experience was in high school teaching at after school programs about basic economic principles that may apply to kids. That was my first time understanding that I have potential to assist others in grasping topics. In my college career, I found myself teaching people everything from music to proper uses of tense/grammar. It was there that i learned that you really only learn a small fraction of what you need to help you in life in the classroom. The rest must be learned on your own or with some one-on-one counseling. In 2006 I began working for the American English Institute as a tutor to university students studying English as a Foreign Language. In 2007 I gained employment with the Eugene, OR school district as a Classified Substitute where I fulfilled a variety of positions; mostly working with IEP students or assisting in Learning Resource Centers. In 2008 I graduated from the University of Oregon with a BA in Chinese and a minor in Asian Studies. In July of 2009 I had the opportunity to travel to Indonesia as an ESL teacher through English First. I lived and worked in Indonesia for one year teaching English grammar, writing style, reading, speech, listening, and business culture to students ranging in age from 3 years old to business professionals.
