My formal experiences as an educator began as an intern at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary where I educated visiting students on natural history and biology. This was when I realized how much I enjoyed teaching and the mutual learning environment. Since then I've had the opportunity teaching at the middle grades (full-time teacher at a local middle school), high school (through a fellowship at a local university), and college level (as an instructor at a local university). Twenty-one out of twenty-four 4th graders under my tutelage increased MAP scores by over 20 points on average when the objective was just for 8 points. I stumbled upon the joy of teaching as I helped others learn to dive recreationally in my early 20’s. When I began my real estate career, I worked primarily with first time home buyers, whom I educated constantly. With the housing market collapse my desire to instruct in this manner grew as I segued into the insurance industry, and was given an opportunity to open a branch office and personally train over 50 agents in a one on one capacity over the course of two years.
