We provide excellent customer service, possibly immediate or same day for homework help or project completion. Online tutoring is also available with a shared online whiteboard for step-by-step problem solving. We strive to get to the root of the problem be it a test-taking challenge or a problem with foundational concepts. Not very fond of your teacher? Unfortunately, this is often the case. My comments on tutoring GED : GED Language Arts section. Implementing study skills and test taking skills.

My teaching style is eclectic. My background as a yoga instructor and massage therapist inform my teaching style in that I teach the student as a whole rather than teaching a subject to a student. I like to use current outside sources whether they be from science or art so that learning stays relevant to today.

UCLA: Math/Science/Computers/Executive Functions

I'm a graduate of UCLA Engineering with a passion for explaining how the physical world works through math and physics along with 14 years of tutoring experience in those subjects, test prep, and mentorship programs. The teaching strategy I believe in emphasizes subject fundamentals, a powerful and necessary tool for higher problem solving. This strategy has proven very effective regardless of the student's educational background or mental ability. Besides being knowledgeable, I am motivating, caring, and patient in guiding your student to academic success! EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING: Executive Functioning is a separate realm that tutoring can assist in. It deals with cognitive processes including organization, time management, and study skills. Much of the difficulty students face in academic subjects can be attributed to the lack of executive functioning. They either cannot keep up w ... read more

I have tutor elementary students since I started college back in 2009. I use to go to three different schools during my spare time to go help the teachers. I noticed that I really like it and therefore I decided to tutor High School students for a year. I never did got the opportunity to tutor Middle School students, but I have a brother who attends middle school and whenever he needs help I tend to help him. I want to become a teacher when I grow up because I am patient, responsible, and I love spending time with kids. To be honest I do not see myself doing anything else, but teach. I am always looking for possible ways to tutor even when looking for a job. I have had more great experience than bad when it comes to tutoring and I know I can make more memorable memories while doing something I really enjoy.

A Little Bit About Me...

I use a white board when teach people because I find people get less stressed out when working with a problem if there is less scribbles on the paper. I also have a strong belief that it only takes one good example to understand the problem so I give the people I tutor one really good generic example of the topic and tell them to copy it down and refer to that example often and I find that it helps a lot.
I have a variety of degrees and specialties but math is my strong suite. I have tutored friends with great results. I have helped people in math classes ranging from simple math to statistics and even college level math. I love math and English and I also love working with people of all ages and teaching them to love math as well. I feel that teachers make things more complicated than they need to be and I am great at simplifying explanations for people.

Education is extremely important to me. As an educator, I think it is important to not only share one's knowledge, but to be able to adapt one's teaching style for each student. Through my experience, I know it is important to have patience and be open-minded with my students. I enjoy tutoring and being a positive role model to all my students.
I have earned a bachelors degree in Psychology, passed the CBEST, and have about four years of work experience as a tutor. Also, in a previous position, I managed after-school tutoring programs for both elementary and junior high schools at the school site, in-home, and public location/library.

I enjoy being able to share the knowledge that I have accumulated during my years of life and education. I am generally able to frame information in a way that is mentally accessible to all students so that they can grasp it for themselves. I believe in allowing the student to take ownership of their learning so that they can be proud of what they have accomplished. With confidence and good self-esteem, a student's opportunities are endless.

My tutoring style is flexible and versatile in order to accommodate a student's learning style. My mission as a tutor is to instill optimism, develop competency in the material, encourage confidence, and help students to become independent thinkers and problem-solvers. I also help them hone listening and study skills, learn time management and organizational strategies. I encourage students to make positive choices (study every day), build confidence by solving problems creatively (brainstorming), and teach them how to enrich their learning experience (pursuing supplemental work).
My most recent position was with Santa Monica College where I worked in the English Department's reading lab.
