My starting assumption is that any student can master any subject given sufficiently clear explanations and enough time to absorb the material. I enjoy teaching and use a variety of different methods. I incorporate different activities into each lesson to reinforce what we have learned. With my younger students I also incorporated a lot of music into the class that helped them with their verb conjugations, pronouns, etc. To keep the students' attention I am always keeping them moving, whether it be with an activity or just simply writing phrases on the board. Most recently I have been selected to conduct clases in math for students wanting to get their GED. I have worked in the public school sytem as an aide for special needs children in the middle school. At the middle schoool I was asked to do tutoring for students in math. I have taught business practices for a large financial services company. I taught computer topics at a community college. I have also taught wood carving to students from age 12 to 98. Lastly I have taught Sunday School for the last 7 years to middle school students.
I try to find an area of interest in the student and then show how learning the material we are discussing relates to that interest.
