Political Science is one of my top subjects! Political Science was the centerpiece of my studies at the University of Florida. In addition to academic experience, I have been politically active for 12 years on both the state and national levels. My academic experience covers domestic politics and internal relations. I have been tutoring in the areas of international/domestic political theory for three years.

I am a firm believer that different people learn in different ways. Therefore, while I teach by my own set of principles I am always seeking feedback on how better to accommodate the manners in which criteria can be better understood.
Prior to serving in the United States Army, I was a successful entrepreneur in NJ. In 2003, I was recruited and after serving I returned to train troops at the Infantry Training Brigade at Fort Benning, GA. After returning home, I began working at a financial firm and became a licensed Investment Advisor and Asset Manager. I ran the Manasquan Edward Jones branch office until deciding to return to school. I studied Political Science at the University of Florida completing their International Relations program Cum Laude. I graduated Magna Cum Laude for Political Science, earned my certification in International Relations and minored in Classics. I headed multiple study groups for my peers upon their request and I have a great ability to explain very complex theory in very easy to understand terms. I know how to word something multiple ways so that if you are not understanding it one way I can easily try something different. I do not over complicate anything. I try to simplify as much as possible then build from there.

My teaching philosophy follows directly my understanding of history as an ongoing argument about a constantly proliferating subject. My goal as a teacher of history is not only to provide information, but also to model inquisitiveness about the past. On a practical level this means that I prefer to structure my teaching around primary sources and very recent examples of the historical writing. The study of scholarly discourse facilitates the analysis of primary sources from different point of view and encourages students to enter the historiographical debate themselves. This method instigates the interest to learn more about their subject and, above all, it forms their independent critical thinking.
I have earned my Ph.D. degree in European History in 2008 from the University of Florida. Currently, I am a professor in history at the University of Central Florida. My teaching experi ... read more

My teaching style embodies a combination of individualism and structure. Before I teach any subject, I dissect the topic to get to the fundamental root that may cause difficulties in learning. I break down the problem into a simple nature so that students can understand the logical reasoning of how to solve any problem. I believe that everyone has a unique learning style, so I use a flexible approach to better help students discover beyond just the right answer. Instead of just giving a student a few steps to memorize, I emphasize understanding why the solution makes sense, so that they may solve any problem regardless of their memorization abilities.

A Little Bit About Me...

In my doctoral program, I am specializing in working with students with special needs and disabilities. Therefore, I strongly believe that every child can learn, but I realize that different children learn in different ways. I have learned and have experience implementing strategies and techniques to enable children to learn. I am very patient, easy going, and considerate, and my goal is to always provide children with the best education possible.
I first began my love of teaching and tutoring children when I was a senior in high school. As the president of my school's National Honor Society, I began a tutoring program that enabled elementary and middle school students to be tutored by high school students.
