Literature is one of my top subjects! As an undergraduate at Yale, my senior thesis was "The Transcendence of Time in the Poetry of T.S. Eliot". I have tutored students and substituted in Literature classes at Washington College.

I spent several years in Omaha teaching creative writing at the High School and College level, giving classes at Creighton University, the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and Metro Tech. The program was called Writing Floes. The basic idea is that our ideas are frozen in the oceans of our unconscious minds. Music melts the ice. My teaching style with students of all ages is to facilitate their learning as opposed to simply feeding them what I feel is the best response. Students learning is maximized when they can take ownership of and pride in their work. I am very patient. Recognizing that all students learn differently, I seek to ascertain their learning styles and then adjust my tutoring style to that learning style.
