A Little Bit About Me...

My fascination for math and science started right before high school level, which drove me to have the Ph.D. degree in chemistry. As an Organic Chemist, I know the subject very well and had gained extensive teaching and research experiences at undergrad and graduate levels.
Each student is different and hence my teaching approach is more on student specific. Teaching and learning are two major components of education; I would say it is a mutual effort. An effective teaching can generate interest in students and can make learning fun. It is very important to get feedback from the students about his/her understanding of the subject. I find pleasure to make a difference in all of my student’s life.

A Little Bit About Me...

I Studied chemistry at the University of Wyoming. During my years there I helped tutor many friends and friends of friends in the subjects of Chemistry, Math and Physics. Also, I worked as a lifeguard and used my skills to become a head lifeguard for a summer at a girl scout camp. In charge of the lake shore, I instructed paddling and canoeing. I want to pursue a career in teaching chemistry because I believe in making a positive impact on young adults through education in science that can be applied to their lives.
I learn visually and like to teach that way. I believe there is a great deal of concepts and memorization in Chemistry. I am not able to memorize all of the subject and would not ask a student to. The most important of the factors are the subject matter and the students learning style. The learning style of the student has to be considered when teaching. Helping a student learn requires finding the most effective method. You want to make sure they understand the subject matter while exposing them to other possible ways to approach difficult problems. You can provide tools not only for the problems they are having but preparing them to handle future difficulties.
