My comments on tutoring Chinese : 7 years experience, well acquainted with the learning process.

I'm currently a student at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota and I've covered many subjects in my 15 years of education. I've learned many of them well enough to teach them to my younger sister, who has ensured I review every subject two years after I complete it, rather than forget it forever. I have also helped many of my classmates understand various concepts as we learned them, which allowed me to improve my own understanding and my ability to explain things in ways that differed from the ways that didn't work coming from teachers.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am passionate about incorporating Chinese culture and history with my language instruction. My primary teaching focuses are to help students become familiar with Chinese culture and to provide a solid foundation for listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Mandarin Chinese language. Furthermore, I like to use illustrations and use hands-on activities (including games, songs and dance) to get students engaged in learning. I found that it is extremely helpful to use visual aids to teach Chinese writing. Whenever possible, I connect the lesson to topics in other subject areas, such as science and math.
