A Little Bit About Me...

I love working one on one with students. I enjoy relating science to real day events and showing students how to think out of the box. I teach using neumonics, songs and repetition. I believe that science is one of the most important subjects because it teaches you how the world around you works. Most people believe that teachers chose the wrong profession and I think that society chose the wrong heros.
I graduated from Hampton University with a BS in Molecular Biology and my love for science pushed me to pursue a MS in Medical Science. I believe that it is important to determine how exactly a person learns. Some people are audio learners and need to talk it out. Others learn better by repetition and doing different examples. I have learned from tutoring math, many people use a combination of learning techniques and it is important for a tutor to be patient with the student and to use positive reinforcement.

I am in my senior year of college and will be graduating in May 2011. I have taken an variety of chemistry and biology courses. Chemistry course I have taken include general chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, and biochemistry. Biology course include general biology, microbiology, and genetics. In addition, I have conducted research and helped other students with chemistry.
