In 2006 I was at my final step of reaching my BA in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English with only having left to complete my student teaching, but was taken by another opportunity. I moved to Japan and teach ESL and ESOL for almost 3 complete years. In my experiences, I have found the best way to fascilitate the learning of mathematics is through visual instruction via a whiteboard and/or blackboard. After the student sees an example of a problem done, I like to sit down with the tutee and have them walk me through the problems to make sure they have a good understanding of both the way to do the problem as well as a stron conceptual understanding of the material.

I like to believe I have the ability to speak with all children and teenagers in a way they can understand. I feel like I can take something that may look like an unsolvable 1,000 piece puzzle and turn it into something that will start looking like a 200 piece puzzle.
